World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades provide players with the ability to upgrade equipment that they already have. This can be done at any item upgrader NPC.
Generally upgrades increase an items main stat and give it extra benefits, based on the item type. Examples include Whistan's shield for FB sorcs, or Goldwrap for caster builds.
Armour
Armour is among the most important factors that keep Link protected from injury in the majority of situations. While it can't be upgraded like weapons, it can be improved in different ways to improve its defence capabilities.
The basic idea of armour is to safeguard animals or people from physical harm or injury whether from physical attack or from a range of dangers to the environment or activity. Utility Items
Utility items are equipment which doesn't fall under the categories of Armor or Clothing and have a variety of capabilities. Utility items are not compatible with each other, as opposed to weapons or armor. Most utility items have an effect that the player can activate by using them but some also have additional capabilities that are activated when the user presses the button or activates a skill.
Generally speaking, the most popular type of utility item is the Flashlight that illuminates the surrounding area. Players can gain more powerful utility items in addition to those that are available in their normal inventory by purchasing them from the Atomic Shop or from seasonal Scoreboard rewards. Some of these items can be upgraded for greater effectiveness.
Most utility items provide the player with a navigational advantage or increase a specific combat ability. Sharpening stones, created by the Weaponsmith, increase Power and Ferocity. Maintenance Oils, crafted by the Huntsman can increase concentration and healing power. Other items of utility such as Writs or Theses crafted by the Scribe, can be used to give the player either an increase in Damage or Condition Damage.
All XCOM soldiers are capable of equipping one utility item at the beginning of the campaign, and an additional slot is made available through the use of certain types armor or by completing engineering, research or experiments in the Proving Ground. During the Alien Hunters DLC, additional slots are created by equipping the Grenade Launcher which allows the player to equip an Smoke Grenade or Bomb in an additional grenade slot while an offensive grenade is equipped in the main grenade slot.
